S80 2001
On April 25th at around 10pm, my wife Meghan was returning home from school when a raccoon darted in front of her while in the high speed lane. Meghan tried to avoid the raccoon to no avail, and ended up in the median of the highway only to try to return to her lane and hit a drain culvert and lost control of her vehicle. Meghan eventually crashed straight into a tree beyond the breakdown lane. This crash was so severe that the first responding Massachusetts State Trooper on the scene came to my residence the next day to see if my wife was alive as this was the worst single car accident he had seen in 26 years of service.
Meghan sustained a laundry list of injuries, but most importantly is alive and will see a complete recovery. I cannot thank Volvo enough for making cars that save lives!! My wife and I are the proud parents of a 2 1/2 year old and an 11 month old. If not for your vehicle, our children would have had to grow up their entire lives without their mother.
I want to add that this is not the first Volvo to save Meghan's life. She was involved in another accident 2 to 3 years prior in which her then 2002 Volvo S80 was side swiped by a young woman who had run a red light. I also have pictures of this vehicle if you would like. I currently drive a 2002 XC70 and also had a 1994 940. As you can see, we are "Volvo for Life!!" and will be buying an XC 90 in the near future. On behalf of my wife Meghan and my two children, I want to thank Volvo for saving her life!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! The site will not let me attach the photos, but I am sure that you will want to see them. Please contact me and I will be sure to get them to you.
