About

Welcome to our new website!

In 1976, Jimmie Jenkins started Jenkins Imports, Inc. in Thiensville, WI. by purchasing an existing dealership owned by P.J. Kaufman Motor Cars.  Back then, the dealership had Volvo, Jaguar, Triumph, Rover, Fiat and Toyota.  After 4 years of being in business, Mr. Jenkins decided to move the dealership to our current location on Green Bay Ave.  We were able to bring Volvo, Jaguar and Triumph to our new location.  In 1982, Triumph went out of business but we added the Lotus franchise.  We eventually parted ways with Lotus to expand our Jaguar brand.

Over the last 30+ years, our location has served us and our customer's extremely well with easy access from I43.  We've built our business over the years by taking care of our customer's.  Our basic principles of treating our customer's with respect and honesty is a hallmark of Jenkins.  Being family owned and operated, these core values will always remain.  We're proud of our long history in Milwaukee and surrounding areas.

On October 22, 2009, Jimmie Jenkins passed away.  He is truly missed by our dealership family and our many customers he touched over the years.  He is survived by his wife Mary and five children. They were married for more than 60 years.

Today, the next generation of family runs the dealership.  Greg Jenkins is President and Principal of the dealership.  Greg has been with the dealership since 1981.  He is the second son of Jimmie Jenkins.

Brother Tom Jenkins, serves as Exec. V.P. and Business Manager and has been with the dealership since 1983.  He is the baby of the family.

Tom Langer, Jimmie's son-in-law is married to Gail (Jenkins) Langer.  Tom is an
Exec. V.P. and has been with the dealership since the beginning in 1976. Daughter Gail works in the office and is the Adminstrative Secretary.

As you can see, we are truly a family owned and operated business.  To our many customer's over the years..."THANK YOU!"  To our future customer's..."WE CAN'T WAIT!"  This is our story.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our website.

Hear What Our Customers Have to Say

The first thing the neurosurgeon said upon entering the examination room was, "You are lucky to be alive."  After showing him the pictures of our wrecked 2001 V70XC Volvo wagon, he pointed out, "The B post, the post behind the front seat, saved your life."  The B post and front roof post bent in while the roof cross beam buckled upward, all bending to absorb impact, but not crumpling just as advertised.

We were on our way back from hiking in the Ozarks in northern Arkansas on Interstate 39 north of Bloomington, Illinois.  My wife Jen was driving, and I was snoozing in the front passenger seat.  She asked if I could take over driving and I said sure, at the next exit, or whenever.  The next thing I remember was the sound of the rumble strip and seeing the car heading into the median strip at 70 mph.  Jen had nodded off, but then woke up instantly.  She was able to bring the car under control on the grass and headed back up on the highway.  Upon hitting the pavement at an angle the car went into a violent fishtail and dove over the right front wheel back into the median.  That was the last thing I remember, but the car rolled like a football and ended up right side up facing traffic.

Jen turned off the key, unbuckled, opened the door, and got out.   I, on the other hand, had to have the door sawed off to be extracted on a back board.  I ended up at the trauma center of the St. Francis Hospital in Peoria with a fractured vertebra, collarbone and two ribs?.   BUT alive and thankfully not paralyzed.  Six weeks later, I'm stiff and sore, have shed the Aspen collar, had a shave and haircut, and no longer look like Ted Kaczynski.

We're very grateful for the outstanding construction of our beloved Cross Country.

My wife and I have been buying and servicing our Volvo's from Jenkins for over 20 years. The Jenkins family and their staff treat you like you are part of their family as well. The service department is so honest and they are always looking out for our best interest. You will never pay for something that's not needed at Jenkins. Forget these independent shops that claim to be as good as the dealer...NOT TRUE! If you are looking to purchase or service your Volvo or Jaguar, Jenkins is the place because they have the most experienced, trust worthy staff in Wisconsin.

We have been buying/servicing our cars at Jenkins for 17 years. We even take our vehicles that are not Volvos, or Jaguars there for service. We have never had to return to have service re-done. There is no reason to go anywhere else, particularly on the North Shore. They are honest & family friendly. Our kids now go there! The techs/salesforce have many, many years of experience. They go above & beyond!!!
